The members of
the Texas Nonprofit Management Assistance Network bring a wealth of
staff expertise and resources to nonprofit organizations throughout
Texas. The Network has 32 members in 18 Texas communities. The members serve as educating and consulting firms to the nonprofit
field. Information,
libraries, workshops,
consulting services,
and publications
are core services provided by the members. During the last twenty-eight years,
the Meadows Foundation started the majority of resource centers in the state as
well as providing funding for major projects of the centers.

Nonprofit
Management Center
As a program of Abilene Christian University, the Center
provides management support services and educational opportunities
to nonprofits in its nineteen-county region. One
of the sixteen Cooperating Collections libraries in Texas,
it contains resources on grantsmanship, fundraising, board
development, volunteerism, financial management, and strategic
planning. Workshops and consulting services are
other key services.

Amarillo
Amarillo
Area Foundation Nonprofit Services Center
As a program
of the Amarillo Area Foundation, the Center provides nonprofit
management assistance to the 26 counties of the Panhandle.
Its Cooperating Collections library contains resources
on topics such as foundations, philanthropy and nonprofit
management, fundraising, and other nonprofit issues.
Workshops, consulting services, and a role as community
facilitator are the main services.

Austin
The Rush Group
This consulting firm will offer
consulting, training, and coaching services to nonprofit
organizations in Texas. A key focus is the
transformation of nonprofit organizations and the
alignment of board and staff on achieving their missions.
Center
for Community-Based and Nonprofit Organizations
This program of Austin Community College assists community-based
and nonprofit organizations to be more effective by helping
to strengthen their organizational capacity. The
Center promotes professional and volunteer leadership
development through its learning opportunities, publications,
website, resource libraries, comprehensive database of
nonprofits, electronic forum, partnerships, and other
services.
Greenlights
for Nonprofit Success
Greenlights is dedicated to improving the management effectiveness
of the Central Texas nonprofit sector. Services include
customized consultation and coaching, organization and
board advancement, information and referral, interactive
education, and nonprofit convening events.
NPower Texas
NPower Texas has begun operations in the
state. An affiliate of NPower, it will provide technology
services to nonprofits. They will focus initial
services in the Dallas/Fort Worth, Houston, Austin, and
San Antonio communities.
Texas C-Bar
The mission of Texas C-Bar is to promote the dignity,
self-sufficiency, safety and stability of low-income Central
Texans by providing direct access to free, quality civil
legal assistance and related educational services which
address the basic human needs of eligible clients.
RGK
Center for Philanthropy & Community Service
An initiative of the Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public
Affairs, the RGK Center for Philanthropy and Community
Service is designed to support the independent sector
through education, research, and community outreach.

The Southeast Texas Nonprofit Development Center has received
its tax exemption from the IRS. Its key programs will
be to provide information, a nonprofit library, workshops, and consulting
services to nonprofits in the Beaumont, Port Author, and
Orange areas. The new Center is the Cooperating
Collection Library for this part of Texas.

Executive Service Corps of Houston
The Executive Service Corps of Houston, formed in 1984, is made up
primarily of retired corporate executives and professionals who volunteer as
consultants to help non-profit groups build sound planning, management and
service delivery programs. While independent, ESCH is one of 40 Executive
Service Corps programs in major cities throughout the nation.

Assistance Program
As a program of the United Way of Greater Houston, this
program provides management consulting, seminars, mentoring,

Humanics Program
Nonprofit
Management Program
A program of
the University of Texas in San Antonio that offers nonprofit
professionals and volunteers the region's only Certification
in Nonprofit Management and Leadership, with CEU credit.
Undergraduate students can choose to minor in Youth and
Human Services and/or obtain the nationally-recognized
American Humanics Certificate. The university, also strives
to inspire young people to enter the nonprofit sector
by placing high school students in nonprofit organizations
throughout the city for a six-week summer internship.
Nonprofit
Resource Center of Texas
The Center is the oldest and one of the largest resource
centers in the state. Funded in part by United Way,
its core services include a Cooperating Collections library,
workshops, consulting and facilitation services, and publications.
Its publications, The Directory of Texas Foundations
and Am I Liable? are critical tools for grant researchers
and board training in Texas.
